- Life is Short...Why Would You Want to Miss a Day?
- Author:kenyetta mckinney
When I heard about &Golden Girl* Bea Arthur passing away on last week (yes, I was an avid &Golden Girls* watcher), I started to think about how precious every moment on this earth is, realizing that I just do not want to miss one single day. I am deviating a bit here from my usual &straight* entertainment writing, and have decided to throw in a bit of life. Not for one moment should we live with the ※would have, could have, and should have§ mentality, but instead, we should live with the ※I didn*t give up, I tried, I may have failed, but I bounced back,§ mentality. Life in itself, sometimes seems draining, with all of the talks of a recession, joblessness, homelessness, but believe it or not, there are some people getting by, and are living their lives, and not allowing for the negativity that is reported day in and day out, to break their spirits, whether they have or not. I was recently watching the &Bernie Mac Show,* a show starring the late comedian, Bernie Mac, and I still could not believe that he was gone, because he*d always seem so full of life, appreciating where he had arisen from 每 the streets of the south side of Chicago, to go on and obtain great successes, eventually crossing over to mainstream. While I felt a bit somber thinking about how short his life was (as he died at just 50-years old), I then started to celebrate the fact that he lived a life filled with accomplishment, and did not let his negative surroundings, determine what he would be in life, and he did not#miss a day. There may be someone reading this that feels that life just has not been too kind to them, and they may be at their lowest point, but know that you were given a gift, that is called life, and do not let anything stop you from reaching your stars, and everyday, wake up with the mindset that you are here for a reason, a purpose, and that is what you are working towards, everyday. Life is short, live with no regrets, remember that we are all &celebrities* as we celebrate life, so why would you want to miss a day?
